Just in from WKN: Webkinz X Revealed: The New Dock!

...Webkinz X will also include a new Dock with an easier way to organize your items!
Here’s a look at what your Dock will look like with the NEW Webkinz!
New Dock
We have removed the dropdown menu that was used before for sorting and added tabs instead.
Within each of these tabs your items will now be grouped together first by item type,
and then alphabetically within those types.
Here is exactly how your new Dock of items will be grouped and organized:
AZ: All
Special: Gift Boxes, Coins, Tokens, Coupons
Food: Food, Garden Seeds
Clothing: Helmets, Hats, Glasses, Shirts, Pants, Skirts, Dresses, Shoes, Belts
Furniture: Furniture
Decorations: Wallpapers, Floors, Decoration, Presentable, Carpets, In-Room Games, Webkinz Studio Characters, Webkinz Studio Backgrounds
We have also included a tab for Pet Actions; however at launch Pet Actions won’t be available right away. These will be added back into the Dock in one of our updates coming soon.
Once we have added Pet Actions back to the new Dock,
we will also work on a search function for a future update, to help you better locate your items.
Some of the other updates to the new Dock include:
No need to “Get Item From Storage”; items will now load dynamically on demand
No Dock color customization or pet portrait background
KinzCash and eStore Points have been moved to the top center of the screen
KinzTime, Cell Phone, Message Center and KinzPost have all been moved to the top right corner of the screen
HELP button has been moved to the new Options menu
We have also removed the Map of Kinzville items from the Dock and moved them to their own separate Dock which only appears when you visit the map. At launch, this separate Map Stuff Dock won’t allow you to sell your map decorations back to the WShop.

It looks much smaller, which is not very good for me. I'm farsighted (that is where you see far away better, correct?), the regular dock is confusing enough at times.
I'll learn to love it, I guess. This is similar to the new w-Shop, which I still have trouble with but am accustomed to.
I didn't think everything was going to be so different, I've been trying hard to stay optimistic. I kind of think Ganz is giving us the Family Score prizes just to buy our ease to all of the changes they are undergoing. But I also have a lot of time on my hands, so it's probably just me.

I can handle the other changes but not this. We really don't need a smaller dock! If anything we need to increase the size so you can see more than 8/9 items at a time. I really don't like the new blue background for the dock, white was perfect. The pet on the left is HUGE, I wish they would resize the pet and gave more space to the dock.
"KinzTime, Cell Phone, Message Center and KinzPost have all been moved to the top right corner of the screen"- This looks really tiny, I can totally see myself missing the Message center and Kinzpost.
We could completely remove the map and it wouldn't hurt my feelings. I HATE that the collection events are moving there.

Well......I'm glad they are working on a search function. I'll believe this when they get it to work! If they just let us jump in the sections from letter to letter it would be tons easier. |

Maybe they forgot that so many of their users are older and need reading glasses, lol. Other than the size or color changes I think I will like the changes. I do like how items and clothing will be sorted by type - I have hundreds of clothes in my dock and it's so hard to find anything with a name that starts with a letter in the middle of the alphabet. My biggest complaint will be that there are fewer items from the dock that I can see at one time - I wish it was the other way around. I also wish there was a way I could search for an item - even if it was in a room!! Wouldn't that be great!!

Yep Collection event with the purple items is moving July 8th to the map, they posted on WKN. I figured out that since they are moving the Collection Event that is when Webkinz X is coming.
I might need a magnifying glass for the new dock. What if you have a blue item will it be almost invisible ?

I'm really trying to stay optimistic!!  I'm a little worried about how the changes will affect the gaming. I'm praying that the rooms are not as small as depicted on the picture shown. I'm hoping that its a zoom that we're seeing. I love to decorate and that won't be possible if I can't see the room. rofl!  |

Exactly! The pet they showed a couple of reveals ago had a blue outfit on and it was a lot harder to see in the second pic. |

so um??? does this mean that the deluxies are gonna get another new feature to make up for losing this one???
They did add the monthly challenges a bit ago, does that count? Holy cow the dock organizing is AWESOME! Some people I know have HUGE docks! So they can get around more easy! I don't know if it will be any easier, depends on if their servers were built to handle the instant demand feature, especially if you have large docks. We will see. I'm really trying to stay optimistic!! I'm a little worried about how the changes will affect the gaming. I'm praying that the rooms are not as small as depicted on the picture shown. Like a wall size one.
