Have you ever wondered how people get crystal clear pictures of their desktop online? Wondering why your camera can't do it? Truth is, it's a simple little thing called "Print Screen." I know that learning how to print screen is a little confusing at first, so I decided to make a guide to help out those who aren't sure.
PLEASE NOTE: I am using Windows 7. Depending on what version of Windows you are using steps and programs may vary. Apologizes to MAC users, since I don't own a Mac I can't provide pictures.
A step by step guide on how to take pictures of your desktop and upload your pictures to the site. Pictures are included!
How To Take A Picture Of Your Desktop.
Find something you want to take a picture of on webkinz, or on your screen. It could be a picture of your desktop, or your webkinz's room, ect.
Ex. I'll be using a picture of the WW Newspaper you see when you log in.
Usually located to the right, look for your "Print Screen", "PrtSc" or "SysRq" button on your keyboard. Press it.
LAPTOP USERS: If you're a laptop user you will also (most likely) have to press the "Fn" button at the same time as your "Print Screen" button, usually located near the bottom left corner of your keyboard. A LOT of people forget about this!
Once you press this button, nothing will happen. No pop-ups, no programs should open. (It's supposed to be like this, so no need to panic because you think its not working. I've been there. )
Open your paint program on your computer.
To locate paint you press:
Step 2:All Programs,
Step 3:Accessories ,
Step 4: and then Paint
Once you have paint open and running, paste by either pressing "Ctrl"+"V" at the same time on your keyboard, or click "Edit" and "Paste" on the menu bar on the top. Your picture should appear on paint. (Like this but with more background or menu bar)
Drag your picture to the area wanted and click on the white area when finished.
Click "Select" and then "Rectangular Selection". Some older versions of paint may have a DOTTED rectangle on the tool bar, you would use this instead of the rectangular selection to crop your picture.
Select what you want of your picture. Once you have what you want of the picture INSIDE the box of DOTTED lines, click "Ctrl"+"C" at the same time to copy it.
Now click "Select" and "Select all" and then the "Delete" or "Del" button on your keyboard.
Paste by either pressing "Ctrl"+"V" at the same time on your keyboard, or click "Edit" and "Paste".
Once your picture appears drag the buttom right corner where the white meets the gray to fit the image. I've always noticed a LOT of people forget this step.
Click the blue icon or for many users click "File" and then "Save as".
MAKE SURE to save your file in a place where you can find it and name it something you will remember!
For Mac users to take a screen shot it's "command+4" for a small portion of the screen, and then "command+3" for the entire screen.
A special thanks to Conner for this information!
