Have you ever wondered how people get crystal clear pictures of their desktop online? Wondering why your camera can't do it?
Truth is, it's a simple little thing called "Print Screen."
I know that learning how to print screen is a little confusing at first, so I decided to make a guide to help out those who aren't sure.
PLEASE NOTE: I am using Windows 7. Depending on what version of Windows you are using steps and programs may vary.
Apologizes to MAC users, since I don't own a Mac I can't provide pictures.

Ex. I'll be using a picture of the WW Newspaper you see when you log in.
Step 2:
Usually located to the right, look for your "Print Screen", "PrtSc" or "SysRq" button on your keyboard. Press it.
LAPTOP USERS: If you're a laptop user you will also (most likely) have to press the "Fn" button at the same time as your "Print Screen" button, usually located near the bottom left corner of your keyboard. A LOT of people forget about this!
Once you press this button, nothing will happen. No pop-ups, no programs should open.
(It's supposed to be like this, so no need to panic because you think its not working. I've been there. )

Step 5:
Drag your picture to the area wanted and click on the white area when finished.
Click "Select" and then "Rectangular Selection". Some older versions of paint may have a DOTTED rectangle on the tool bar,
you would use this instead of the rectangular selection to crop your picture.

Step 8:
Click the blue icon or for many users click "File" and then "Save as".

UPDATED-MAC Users.
For Mac users to take a screen shot it's "command+4" for a small portion of the screen, and then "command+3" for the entire screen.
A special thanks to Conner for this information!
