Meet The Webkinz Newz Team April 24 – 28!

Do you visit Webkinz Newz regularly, follow our social media posts, watch our YouTube channel and Podkinz videos?
If so, you probably know Mandy, Michael, Sally and Steve Webkinz.
As a special treat for Webkinz Newz Week, they will be handing out signed versions of
their action figures in the KinzChat Trading Room from Tuesday, April 25, to Friday, April 28!
Two Newz Team members will be featured in the KinzChat Trading Room every day, but they’ll only be there for one hour,
so please make your visit quick, so other players have the chance to get a signed action figure.
Here’s how to get yours:
Click on the KinzChat Trading Room when a Newz Team member is scheduled to appear in the Clubhouse
Click on the Newz Team member to invite them to trade
The Newz Team member will offer their signed action figure for trade.
Drag any item into a trading slot and complete the trade to receive your action figure.
Make sure your offer is something of little value, like a piece of food, because you won’t get it back once the trade has been completed!
Once your trade has been completed, please leave the KinzChat Trading Room immediately, so that other players have a chance
to access the room, and meet a Newz Team Member.

trying again today, currently waiting on sally. decided to try entering the trading room early, so i'm in about 30 minutes ahead... we'll see how it goes.

I had absolutely no luck today and won't be able to try on Friday. Horrible event. yeah... i entered the room for sally 30 minutes earlier as i posted before, but just before 12pm hit, around 11:57, the clubhouse kicked all of us out. so showing up early did nothing, it was still the same game of refreshing rooms over and over. i gave up about 15 minutes in, and i didn't bother trying for steves. i did stop by for the webkinz meet up in next, which was happening around the same time as steve's window. mandy talked a bit about it, and said they're aware it's difficult but ... basically no solutions. she said they might do it differently next time, but that's all. also, she said that they've been trying to give out multiple figures per trade to try and help people gift them to each other. but according to some players, people trying to trade them are already asking for ridiculous things & etc, so... it sucks that those kinds of people got duplicates to abuse, basically... it was a cute idea, hopefully there will be another chance to get them and the event will be improved. i think it ought to just be a dispenser style, like the other clubhouse hosts give items. and it's just a limited time frame. trying to meet the actual newz team on their own accounts is difficult, and there's no benefit to each newz member playing/trading themselves because there's no time to chit chat or have any fun with them. they're just sitting there for an hour trying their hardest to trade out their figures... exactly like a robot or dispenser anyways. so i think they should just do that next time... edit: i also just remembered, i'm positive mandy said she would try changing rooms. i don't know if this means all of them will be doing this; if it'll happen during this event or a next time; etc etc, but i think she might be changing rooms herself tomorrow too. this means sitting and waiting in a room might actually be effective now. |

I'm extremely disappointed in this event too.  I have had absolutely zero luck so far and don't find it worth my time. |

Mandy saying that they are aware but "there are no solutions" or something to that effect is a load of baloney. There are lots of easy solutions. A "make up" day in the park later where you click on a character and get one random signed figure (or all four!). Staying longer in the rooms than originally planned. Doing a community code that gives you one random figure so at least you'd have one and you could trade it for the one you want most. Multiple people at Ganz could have a pet named the same as the host and could go to multiple rooms so you have way better odds of seeing the host no matter which room you end up in. Should I continue?
I get that the figures are supposed to be valuable, like a real celebrity autograph, hard to come by and all that... but this is unreasonable as I think pretty much everyone agrees.

Ganz has always cared about players and our feedback (in my opinion) so maybe they will still try to make some small gesture later to players who have struggled. I can't imagine how hard and sad it must be for others who really really wanted one and tried and tried. |

I can't imagine how hard and sad it must be for others who really really wanted one and tried and tried. if, like newfie said, they really did run an event in this same style before and already knew about all these issues, it is really frustrating they ever tried it again without doing anything differently. i personally am a little hurt by how simple the newz blogs about it were. they don't even mention that the trading room isn't actually one room; both the blog and the game itself hide the fact that when you enter the trading room, you're being placed into one of several that has free space. i'm certain plenty of people sat in the room for minutes and assumed that the newz member just never showed up at all, because that's what it appears like. the blog detailing how to participate in this event DOES mention that you should leave as soon as possible after collecting a figure, but it doesn't mention you have to be lucky enough to load into the same room as the newz member to begin with, or that your only chance to find them will be to refresh the room. i have no idea how they expected this to pan out. especially if they've done it before... i'm definitely disappointed. it seems like really poor planning. however, to my understanding, the newz team are essentially the marketing department. i don't think they themselves have any say in how the event was done or the dev work behind the trading room or anything. hopefully this time they're able to pass it along to those people that this type of event just isn't going to work with the way the trading room is right now. |
